The Lauryn Griewahn Memorial Scholarship was established in 2019. Lauryn was a spirited, resilient young lady, a team player and a fighter, with a never quit attitude. She continued to attend school, volunteer and give back within her community despite her health challenges. This scholarship is for a Lenawee County graduating high school senior. Financial need will not be considered.
Qualifications:
- Applicant must be graduating from a Lenawee County high school (public or private)
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior. - Applicant must have been accepted to an institution of higher education (trade school, community college, university/college). - Applicant must have a GPA of 2.0 or above.
Additional Requirements:
1. For the Lauryn Griewahn Memorial Scholarship, please provide a letter of recommendation from a mentor, teacher, advisor, coach or boss. 2. For the Lauryn Griewahn Memorial Scholarship, please provide a second letter of recommendation from a mentor, teacher, advisor, coach or boss.
3. Lauryn was a spirited, resilient young lady, a team player and a fighter, with a never quit attitude. She continued to attend school, volunteer and give back within her community despite her health challenges. The ideal applicant should possess a fighter's spirit, demonstrate leadership qualities and have a never give up attitude when faced with adversity.
Write an essay of 500 words or less that describes a time in your life where you faced adversity, how you overcame it, how it changed you and who you aspire to be in the future. (500 words maximum)
